ELECTRICIAN TRAINEE PROGRAM
WECA's State-approved Electrician Trainee (ET) Program is designed to help electrical workers comply with the new state certification regulations that went into effect on January 1, 2006. The training we provide through our ET Program training they need in order to continue working legally and to move toward taking the State Electrician Certification examination.
An electrical contractor who employs an uncertified electrician who is not indentured as an apprentice or enrolled as an electrician trainee in a state-approved program is not complying with state law. If an electrical worker is not certified or indentured as an apprentice, he or she must be enrolled in a program like ours to continue to work legally until he or she becomes certified. Our ET Program is designed to protect contractors as well as provide necessary training to their uncertified workers.
Our classes are available at several different locations in California and we offer classes in different formats including Classroom, Live Web Cast and Online. Most are evening classes but in select locations Saturday classes are offered. Classes are not limited to electricians employed by member contractors. They are open to any electrician who needs to enroll in a state-approved ET program in order to continue working legally.
Anyone that would like to take an ET Class with WECA will need to sign up as an Electrician Trainee using the ET Enrollment Form (click here to download this form) and pay a $25 enrollment fee. At the same time a student registers for the ET program he/she must sign up for a class and pay the tuition.
Additional information about our ET Program, including class times, locations and fees, can be found on the Electrician Trainee page of our website. You may also call our Customer Consultant at (877) 444-9322, ext. 124 with any questions.
